What a welcome surprise after two days of gray weather in the 'sunshine state'. It makes the whole ambiance of this hotel even better. Breakfast outside, the smell of the grass on the golf course. I feel fortunate indeed.
Matz is a nice guy and he presented a great keynote. Nothing technical. It was about how he started with programming in the first place. And the love he had for computer languages. I can relate to that of course. We all had our vibe with programming or we wouldn't be here.
I started with BASIC to. Looking back at it I remember how the language sucked. But at that time it was like an elixer. I could tell a machine to do something and it would work if I programmed it right. What a rush.
Ruby gave me that same rush again when we met. If you never had a rush during programming you might consider a career change.
Good session with all kinds of tips.
Same here
My skydive tandem jump didn't go through yesterday because of weather conditions. I was so bummed about it that I decided to go there after lunch. The weather just couldn't be better and I just had to go. But hey, at 8 tonight the lightning talks start so I can still see some Ruby.
If this blog becomes silent, something went terribly wrong :-)
