For me it is always fun to go on a road trip. Its not only the conference but the whole package. Where its gonna be this year, booking the flight and the hotel and actually getting there.
The flying part was a bit of a hassle to get it arranged. No direct flights from Amsterdam to Orlando. Very weird. So it was via Frankfurt. Now it is only one hour to Frankfurt so that is not a problem but there was only a one hour window for the next flight. After being screwed in the past I was a bit scared of making it but everything went smooth.
I wanted to be here before the election. I think it is gonna be an historical day for African Americans. Obama is going to win and I want to be a witness of that right here. It is gonna be close.
Kudos for RubyConf organisation team. What a stunning place this is. Driving up the entrance you actually see how big it is. Service is immaculate. I am also a sucker for pools and its just awsome. Lazy river with palm trees, pool bar and summer temperature is soothing to say the least.
